Challenges of Engineering I introduces students to the engineering profession. Students will be involved in the many different types of engineering, including: mechanical, electrical, aeronautic, and others. Engineering careers will be explored. The use of math and science will be combined to solve laboratory problems. Students will work in teams and individually to design and construct a number of technical devices. Students will study the design process and design portfolios will be used in this class. There is no SOL test for Technology Education; however, Challenges of Engineering strives to support requirements in math, science, social studies, and language arts.

Make-Up Policy:Students with excused absences will be responsible for contacting the teacher within two days after returning to school to make arrangements to complete missed work. I am generally at school by 6:30 AM and will remain after school on an as needs basis. Missed assignments not completed will receive a grade of zero. Discussion Topics |
